This new chapter in my life is so exciting.  I had a tragic fall in the summer of 2016 that took a percentage of my strength and mobility in my right arm.  Through WSIB's work transition program I have a new lease on life in Radio Broadcasting at Conestoga College.

Everyday I wake up excited to hone my new skills as an on air radio personality.  I have an 9 year background in stand up comedy which has helped me supress the nerves that come with speaking in public.  I give all the love and respect in the world to my mentor that accepted me into the program, Mr. Paul Scott.  He is a kindred spirit for me and even though he has retired now, the things he instilled for 4 months will be taken with me forever.

My father always told me that sometimes in life, "When one door closes, another door opens".  Turns out he was exactly right.  It makes no difference to me whether I am rich or poor, as long as I am doing something that I love.  All I ever wanted to do was entertain the people.  When it comes right down to it, all I need is my microphone and a place to rest my head at night.  That's all I need!!  

 

I graduated on The Deans List in June of 2019.  I then proceeded to be offered a Commercial Producing/Swingshift Announcer job working for 3 stations here in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.  I produce and announce for Pure Country 890 in Dawson Creek, as well as 101.5 The Bear and 95.1 SunFM in Fort St. John.  Life is so good for me right now.  My positive attitude and endless work ethic will get me to where I want to be.  My mentor always told me, "practice makes better" and "if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life"!  I cherished my time in school with all of my fellow broadcasting future stars.  We did it, and believe me when I tell you, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!
